Bobcats, a Tipper and 3 Excavators

Updated: Jun 26, 2018

As we have begun to use social media for marketing I have been forced to spend a lot of time sorting and organising photos of Steve’s work. Not that, that is a bad thing, but I have noticed the evolution of landscaping skills.

The Seahaven Landscapes' style has always incorporated plenty of natural materials, in particular rock. However I feel that I could actually match the development of works with the purchases of equipment.

First came a bobcat and tipper, this allowed rocks to get larger and more of them to be used. Moving rock around a job site with a wheel barrow is exhausting and barrowing in and out of a trailer is back breaking.

Everyone was excited when the new tipper arrived.

Then a small excavator was added to the Seahaven Landscapes fleet. Digging became much easier and new elements were emerging in Steve’s work.

Mini Excavator
The mini excavtor accessing sites with restricted access.

A 4.5-tonne excavator was added next and searching these photos I can see where this machine added the ability to dig and move materials around the site like never before.

Moving and digging, our excavators are invaluable

The next addition was a 14-tonne excavator and yet again the digging became more substantial and the rocks grew to the size you see in the current natural ponds.

The most recent addition to the fleet was the loader and trailer. All this machinery needs to floated from site to site and now Seahaven Landscapes is equipped to keep all its machinery and transporting in house.

Someone asked me “What was there before?” when looking at photos of a natural pool. The answer is a flat grass yard. Everything used to create our chemical free pools must be brought to site and moved around. Without the fleet of machinery, creating this stunning backyard oasis would be impossible.

Once a grassed yard, now a tropoical paradise.

I have always joked that Landscaping was the perfect job for Steve. As he got older the sand pit just got bigger and the diggers more expensive!!
